After Muybridge

Bit of struggle with this one, I had a rather mundane idea when I started. But nothing was satisfactory so I just dove in and started “simplifying” (but without loosing the complexity). This balance took a while & a bit of thought. For me, the best paintings are ones that offer problems, if they come out smoothly I might as well be painting a wall.

I especially like the way some negative shapes take on their own character.
